Increase the traffic of taxpayers, and make it easy navigation for e-tax filing.
Indian economy is becoming strong day by day, India has biggest young brigade who is start paying taxes to Govt of India, Even the tax payers also increasing day by day, So in this scenario Indian tax filing website & app (e-Filing) needs to change the its visual design and increase the ease of functionality.
My Role: Conducted Usability review, Information Architecture, UI Design, UX Design,
My Aunt Neelima is a Govt Servant, She works with Zilha Parishad(ZP Office), Thane, MH;
The department comes under Govt of Maharashtra, She wants to do her tax filing, Previously she handover this task to her Tax Consultant, But she wants to cut it down the additional fees, She could use for savings and her priorities. She itself working as clerk so was aware about the computer and about the internet, She decided to visit the website and e-Filing a tax for herself from her mobile device, But she start facing the functional issue such as like responsive design, confusing navigation, she found website complete chaos. She got sacred and just gave upon the mobile site.
I have conducted some research to identify the target audience. Issues such as filing a tax, accessibility point of view, help centre or a guideline have helped me, have insights to follow through with the project.
Aunt Neelima Athavale 58 Years old, Govt servant, working with Zilha Parishad (ZP), Thane, MH. Her husband owns a business and her daughter is professional singer. Aunt Neelima loves to learn new thing such as like online shopping, mobile games. She is more aware about shopping portal like flipkart, amazon and using their apps respectively. She is a professional violinist and performed in local events.

As per the Usability Parameter I found following issues :
Functionality : Unable to access the website on mobile (Not a mobile friendly website)
Visual Design : It should looks trustworthy and the professional.
Efficiency: Typeface and its size
Learnability : No sign of Learnability
Navigation : Confusing navigation and the Information Architecture hierarchy
Consistency : Lack of consistent icons
Accessibility : Lack of empathy about Accessibility
As per the GIGW Guidelines , Parameters this web - design violated following points.
Language : Along with a "English", Website should be in "Hindi" or in the regional language option should be available
Accessibility : Guidelines/ Indicator
So here is the outcome of the problem statement, Cover all the points which was lacking in the old design. In this New Design, covered
Functionality - Made design for Mobile & Web.
Visual Design - A design which will deliver promise and trust towards tax payers.
Efficiency - On the basis of User research created efficient UXUI Design
Navigation - Improved and gave it to necessary positioning
Consistency - Enhanced icon, typeface consistency along with a visual hierarchy
Accessibility - Fixed and made changes from the accessibility point of view.
